Food Intelligence For Children – Stage Two

Description

Christine says, ‘…as a young adult builds their life skills and concentrates on the journey that life presents, they learn to modify their thinking, adapt their behaviour to meet the outcome they want. Sometimes, it takes longer to reach the goals than first anticipated but with the strength of mind and determination they can achieve great heights.

Creating the discipline of mind about the food young adults eat, if they are shown the differences between good food and indigestible food, will reduce short and long-term illnesses, reduce obesity, add to a better quality of life and reduce early death. All people have the right to ask of the food producer, and manufacture, ‘What is in this food?’ ‘How is this food produced?’ ‘Is this food good for me to eat?’

I didn’t have any intention of writing a book about food additives when I started researching the topic. I had observed the behaviours of my own children when they were younger and one who was diagnosed with a lifelong condition, then observed the children I taught in both the UK and Australia; I had also witnessed a young child in the family, on a recent visit, wanting a particular fruit drink at a similar time each day. After the family went home, I was curious to find out what was put into different drinks that create the bad habit of wanting sugared drinks at daily, regular times? With these questions in my head, I went to the supermarket and bought as much of this so-called food and drink as my arms would carry, and at home, started reading. That was the beginning of the research and the journey into food additives. If I hadn’t put in, the nearly four years of work and research for my book, ‘Devils In Our Food’, I would not have been able to write the Programme, Power Point, and supporting workbooks for the children and young adults on Food Intelligence I have written. Please see Food Intelligence Stage One, for six-to-eleven-year-olds, and Stage Two, for twelve-to-eighteen-year-olds. Both programmes are for School Groups, Holiday Programmes, Cubs, Girl Guides, Scouts, other interested groups or for individual learning as in Home Schooling.’
